Chris Baynes - Founder & CEO The DCM group

Reimagining ageing in Australia

As Founder and CEO of the DCM Group, Chris has spent two decades helping reshape how the nation engages with ageing - informing government, empowering operators, and supporting older Australians and their families to navigate the ageing journey with clarity and confidence.

Chris founded DoComeMonday Media in 2005, following his own experience of age-based exclusion in the workforce. He transformed that moment into a mission to build what is now the country’s most influential media and engagement platform for the ageing sector.

Suite of educational recourses

better informed, leads to better decisions and better outcomes,

Based on the philosophy that being better informed, leads to better decisions and better outcomes, the DCM Group has a suite of educational resources for both consumers and businesses across the retirement living and aged care sectors.

Each year, more than 1.5 million older Australians and their families turn to villages.com.au and agedcare101.com.au to understand their options and connect with the services they need.

For operators and businesses in retirement living, support at home, and residential aged care, DCM Media’s The Weekly Source and SATURDAY deliver trusted news and insights. The DCM Institute and DCM Executive Recruitment support executive-level professional development and talent standards across the sector.

Architect of plan B and Plan T

From Co-Contribution to Transformation

The DCM Group team is currently championing Plan T, an ambitious sector-wide initiative to unlock the viability, sustainability, and investability of Australia’s aged care system.

Recognising that the current system is complex, fragmented and under strain, the group is rallying a Coalition of the Willing - leading operators, technologists, workforce innovators, and community stakeholders - to dismantle systemic roadblocks and accelerate early community interventions.

Plan T aims to shift the narrative from reactive aged care to proactive ageing, backed by strategic proposals that the DCM group helps surface, broadcast, and track, ensuring accountability from both government and industry. The DCM Group’s belief in transparency, collective responsibility, and action is at the heart of this movement.

Our elders deserve more than a system that reacts too late. They deserve a society that prepares, supports, and values them.
We need to build that society now.”
