Villages.com.au data shows retirement village and land lease community interest up 16% year on year

Fresh data from Villages.com.au has indicated interest in retirement villages and land lease communities remains strong, despite a challenging year.

As DCM Group reported in this week’s Tuesday SOURCE, this interest is providing great opportunities for villages with available properties.

In the month to leading up to 14 December 2019, Villages.com.au delivered a strong 62,611 new users.

But new data calculated this week (which you can see below) shows in the month leading to December 2020 Villages.com.au delivered 72,895 new users – an increase of 16.4%.

In fact, data shows a 14% increase in new users, year on year.

Strong interest, despite COVID challenges

Websites delivering year on year growth isn’t so strange.

But when you consider the unique challenges created by COVID, where almost everyone’s world was turned upside down, then you have to say the growth we’ve seen through Villages.com.au is nothing short of remarkable.

Consider also our report from earlier this year, which showed the number of visitors searching for information on retirement villages and land lease communities took a hit in March during the height of the pandemic.

But the data also shows interest has built back strongly and consistently since then, leading to the great full year results which we’re reporting today.

More users, more sales opportunities

So, what can you take from this?

These results, in conjunction with the extensive website improvements that we announced should come as welcome news for retirement village and land lease community operators.

According to DCM Group Head of Industry Sales Carmella Rowsthorne, many operators recognise that the sales journey is long, so they have increased branding across all regions to attract more traffic to their sites, and it is working.

While challenges associated with the perception of the sector remain, as highlighted in our retirement living year in review, interest on a whole is growing.

And that’s good news for the sector as a whole.

If you’re a retirement village operator interested in a promoted listing you email Carmella Rowsthorne here or find out more here.
