The Thursday WRAP – Gov report shows 40% drop in new provider applications
This week’s Thursday WRAP with Lauren Broomham looks at the Federal Government’s Report on the Operations of its own Aged Care Act.
It’s an interesting snapshot of the aged care sector, and there are a few points worth considering.
As DCM Group’s Lauren Broomham explains, the report shows a 40% year on year drop in the number of applications to become an approved provider.
And remarkable, less than 20 organisations were approved this year.
This is compared to the 40 organisations approved in the same period in 2018-19.
So, what does this all mean?
Well, as Lauren explains, the long and short of it that while aged care still is proving to be an attractive investment, you have to be an operator or investor with a large portfolio to make it work.
